Summer is right around the corner, and if your family is still looking for the perfect vacation spot, you’ve come to the right place! Plan your Northwest Florida summer getaway with Cape & Coast Premier Properties and immerse yourself in the Panhandle’s slow pace and relaxed way of life. Spend your summers cooling down from the heat at the beach, exploring nature trails, watching sea turtles nesting, and looking for bay scallops.

What to Do During Your Summer Getaway

Spend Time at the Beaches

Cool down from the summer heat at Northwest Florida’s scenic beaches. The Cape encompasses 17 miles of beach access where you can spend your time swimming, paddling, fishing, kayaking, and snorkeling. When you stay with Cape & Coast, you can access $250 worth of VayK Gear. Reserve bikes, chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, paddleboards, beach carts, and boogie boards with us for the best beach day ever!

Experience Summer Sea Turtle Season

The sea turtle season on the Forgotten Coast runs from May 1st through October 31st, offering unique opportunities for summer visitors to encounter newly hatched turtles. In early summer, you can walk along the beach at dawn or at night to get a glimpse of the turtles.

During this time, we ask beachgoers to leave no trace by filling in holes, turning off lights, and keeping our beaches clean. Make sure to stop at the Forgotten Coast Sea Turtle Center in Port St. Joe to learn more about local sea turtles and their coastal habitats.

Join Us for Scallop Season

Summer means the return of Florida scallop season, offering a fun and rewarding activity for all ages. Franklin County scallop season will re-open on July 1st, and Gulf County scalloping is available mid-August. Read our blog Dive for Dinner: Florida Scallop Season Returns for more information.
