We always love coming to Port St. Joe. It's not crowded. There are lots of good seafood restaurants. The beach is clean and the sand is great for walking or just lying in the sun. We've been coming for about 15 years and have stayed in several beach houses. This one will probably be put on our favorites list.

The accommodations were beautiful and had everything we needed and more! We greatly enjoyed our combo beach and pool days, while our nights were spent looking at the amazing stars. We even walked a couple times to "town" which was fun and easy. We loved every minute!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at South Wind and exploring all SGI has to offer! Between the panoramic ocean views, dolphin watching, ample time relaxing by the private pool and beach, crab hunting at night, and staying in a fully stocked, beautifully designed beachfront property, we simply couldn't have asked for anything more! Your attention to detail didn't go unnoticed! This was our first time staying in SGI, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for sharing your little slice of Heaven with our family. We are so Grateful!

Our youngest is a 2 year old and our oldest is 93 years old! Your home is beautiful! We so enjoyed staying here. Your attention to detail and creature comforts is so nice! We will recommend the lovely South Wind to our family and friends!

What a special place you have here. So comfortable and well appointed. Thank you for sharing this slice of Heaven. We will treasure our slow and relaxing time here. Grandma read 4+ books, kids swam and swam, and Mom and Dad thoroughly enjoyed soaking it all in. Sadly, back to the snow.

We have been coming to SGI for years. This was our first trip in February (escaped winter weather in Indiana). We love St George Island. Your beautiful home, directly on the ocean, is perfect in every way. Thank you for sharing it and making our stay comfortable and relaxing. The sun rises are breath-taking. Listening to the ocean from the swing, enjoying the stars from the hot-tub or heated pool was awesome and allowed for some much needed rest. Would love to visit again. The week always passes too quickly and this trip was no exception. Thanks for the wonderful memories!

This was our 4th girl’s trip to the South Wind and it never disappoints! We love the private suites for each of us. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We usually started our day at the beach and ended at the pool—which is very private with the large palm trees on each side. Don’t forget to stargaze after the sun goes down! Whether in the hot tub or on the sun deck, the sky and the stars are just so bright and beautiful. We have already booked for next year. Thank you Lauri and Rob for sharing this very special place with us.

Absolutely loved the location of Shatzie Rose. Not a whole lot of bells and whistles with the house, but it fit our needs just fine. Clean, seemed like a safe location, pretty private, right on the water!! Do wish that some beach gear came with the house rental, though. Never had to rent beach gear from an outside source before. There were no kids on this trip, (all grown women)so the fittest of the crew dealt with the journeying up and down the stairs to the loft. We LOVE Port St. Joe and will definitely return and depending how many people want to roll next time, Shatzie Rose will be my choice

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great property, very clean and well maintained inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked for all our needs. The only negative was the automatic thermostat. If it did not detect movement in the house, it would set itself to 78. This includes when we were at the beach, returning to a hot house. It also was a problem while sleeping. The upstairs becomes extremely warm and uncomfortable. I started waking up in the middle of the night to adjust it to cooler. Additionally, the sexually related/nudity art in the house lead to many comments from our teenage boys. This should probably be mentioned in the description of home. (Topless mermaids, etc)
We would stay here again, but hopefully the thermostat is different when we return. A great stay overall.

This house was perfect for us and my sisters family. The adults all had bedrooms and the young cousins slept in the upstairs loft (and loved the spiral staircase). The screened porch was perfect for dinners at sunset (away from the bugs of summertime) but the outer porch was perfect for late night stargazing. We had never been to the area before but found it to be pretty quiet but with options in Port St. Joe and Appalachacola not far away for the days or night we wanted seafood and not to cook. The water was a bit murky (typical of the area) but the kids didn't care- they were out there every day splashing around!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this awesome beach house! It was just what we needed, not too small, not too big. It was very clean, check-in/check-out was a breeze and the property manager was very helpful. A few suggestions - 2 outdoor trash cans would be nice rather than 1 if that's possible, would be nice to be able to control the heat and a/c temp but it was ok, couldn't get the living room fan turned on (finally found the remote for it taped behind the tv, but alas it didn't work either), and you need a curtain or door on the shower cove in the loft upstairs, otherwise you can see in the shower from the living room below. Luckily I had read about the shower in another review before we went, so I took a curtain and tension rod to put up and it worked just fine. I actually ended up forgetting to take the curtain back with me so it may still be there! And the only bad thing was the gas grill ran out of propane right in the middle of cooking supper one night, but we made do and finished the fish in the oven. It happens and can't really be helped. Cape and Coast staff

The house was very comfortable and we have all the amenities we need to cook and address all the kids ‘ needs. The position is perfect for the people is looking for a quite staying and enjoying the nature , the beach and all the activities you can do in this kind of environment (fishing, kayaking). We had an issue with A/C that was solved during the same day. Michelle was so kind. Thank you and see you soon

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the property. It had three bedrooms on the main floor with big beds. It was perfect for the three of us to have our own rooms. The screened in deck was wonderful to eat breakfast and have drinks in the evenings. The home is very close to the water so we did not have far to walk with our beach chairs and it was easy to run to the house real quick if we needed something. I would definitely stay here again.
